Camp NaNoWriMo Update – Day 5

Camp NaNoWriMo is in full swing and so far it’s going well. Because I won’t be able to do much work on my Camp stuff this weekend, I really tried to get as much done as possible during the weekend and last night. This really worked in my favour as I am now on 6300 of my 20 000 word goal.

Other Writing News

This week I’m posting the second and third stories which will make up part of the Reaper Songs collection on Wattpad. I’m also posting a short personal essay tomorrow, which is something new I’m trying out on the blog.

The reason? I joined SkillShare and am focusing on some of their writing tips and lessons, especially on writing personal essays and creative non-fiction. Two, which I have found to be really helpful (I’m still busy with the homework), are Creative Writing: Writing From Memory by Ashley C. Ford and Creative Nonfiction: Write Truth with Style by Susan Orlean.

There are also some other courses I have lined up, including a blogging course from Shaw Academy next month. It seems that I am on a roll this year, but there’s just too many interesting things going on! I’ll be doing a post on online courses next week, where I’ll be sharing some links to all the places I’m either doing courses from or of which I have heard some positive feedback.

But, for now, it’s back to editing and writing for the Camp NaNoWriMo projects!

  1. Sounds like you’re really ramping up the level of Writer-ness neh? Raising the bar too high. Don’t know if I will catch up now haha.

Happy camping! Check you on the camp site 🙂
